 Thrust (axial) needle roller bearings are able to accommodate heavy axial loads, are insensitive to shock loads and provide a high degree of bearing units stiffness within a minimum axial space. They represent unidirectional bearings and can accommodate axial loads acting in one direction only.Using thrust (axial) needle roller bearings, it is possible to make compact bearing units. They will take up no more space than a conventional thrust washer, when the faces of adjacent machine components can serve as raceways for a set of thrust needle rollers with cage. In the cases when faces of adjacent machine components cannot serve as raceways, a set of thrust needle rollers with cage can be combined with washers of various designs. Cages for thrust (axial) needle roller bearings are made of glass fibre reinforced polyamide or pressed steel.
