Flexible roller bearings are designed to accommodate only the radial loads. A distinctive feature of the bearings design is the use of special flexible spiral rollers as rolling elements. This allows bearings to accommodate significant shock loads. Compared to the bearings with solid cylindrical rollers, the flexible roller bearings have approximately two times less load capacity, can operate only at low speeds and they are less sensitive to pollution. Flexible roller bearings are produced with rings made of bearing steel with pressed outer ring or without rings. The bearings are mostly used in low-speed units, which do not require the rotation accuracy, for example, in the rollers of roller bed and in the transmission shafts of metallurgical equipment, in different units of tractors and combines.
